Welcome to the Japan Guild of Voices, Warmth and Light (JGVWL 日本綴り人灯火振興協会)!

Thank you sincerely for visiting the Japan Guild of Voices, Warmth and Light website today. I’m Yamato Kagami, the Representative.

Our work is built upon the philosophy encoded in our domain name, nve.jp. It stands for the French phrase: “Nous Vivons Ensemble” (We Live Together). Even across oceans, cultures, and languages, we share the power to feel the disasters that strike one corner of the globe and the blessings that shine in another. Humans can truly share both pain and joy. This universal solidarity is the very essence of what drives us.

We’ve found the wellspring of this “living together” philosophy in Japan itself. Geographical isolation refined Japanese culture, allowing it to select outside ideas while nurturing a unique aesthetic and sensibility. This is the philosophy of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfection and transience—and the delicate heart that “reads the air” (kuuki o yomu), sensing what remains unsaid. From the hands of artisans to future technology, and the boundless imagination of anime and manga, a deep sensibility is rooted in Japan: “What must be spoken often lies in what is left unsaid.”

And it is this delicate sensibility that gives us the power to find the “Light of Happiness,” the thing we value above all else.

We believe in your own power of “realization.” Happiness isn’t something someone gives you; it’s what you sense and light within your own heart. It’s often hidden in a passing landscape or a kind word from another.

The Japan Guild of Voices, Warmth and Light aspires to help you find those small lights. We truly hope that this place, where the voices of diverse ‘Tsuzuri-bito’ (weavers/tellers of words) gather, will become a source of inspiration for you to shape your future.
